William "Fred" Funk III Profile Photo

William "Fred" Funk III, passed away on June 23, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Born on September 17, 1957, in Fort Worth, Fred was the son of William F. Funk and Elva Jo "Judy" Rainwater Funk. Fred graduated from Southwest High School (Class of ’75). He was a loving father, a proud Gramps, and a loyal friend. Fred had a lifelong love for football. He played for the Fort Worth Falcons and later found joy coaching his grandson’s peewee football team. He was also a proud supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and TCU Horned Frogs, never shy about letting you know where his loyalty stood. Fred was the life of the party and always happiest offshore fishing with a cold beer in hand, sun on his face, and salt in the air. Sundays on the lake with family and friends were another favorite of his.

To say he’ll be missed is an understatement. Fred’s spirit lives on in the memories we share, the laughter we hear when we tell his stories, and the peace we find near the water he loved so much.

Fred is survived by his daughter Brandi Funk, his son Billy Funk, his grandson Liam Funk, his brother Mark Funk (Julie), and his sister Beverly Haire (Dennis).
