Selma Elaine "Sally" Jordan

With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Selma Elaine (Terrill) Jordan who departed this world peacefully in her home on July 18, 2026, at the age of 90 years old.

Born October 4, 1935, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Nellie & Donald Terrill, she was a proud Michigander despite living most of her life in Fort Worth, Texas. A smart, hardworking woman, she started working at the telephone company while still attending high school. She raised her family as they traveled with the military throughout the U.S. and Spain. She made a great group of friends during her work at the Defense Commissary at Carswell Air Force Base and then at General Services Administration, where she worked as an accountant for 13 years before retiring in 1998. Over the years, she was a member of Business and Professional Women of America, held various lay minister roles within the Catholic parishes she attended, and always supported charities close to her heart.

Selma was a devoted wife to her husband of nearly 50 years and the true matriarch of her large family. She was affectionately known as ‘Socks’ by her daddy, Sally to her friends, mom, grandma, grandma the great, sister, aunt, and godmother.

Selma was a woman whose kindness, strength, and unwavering generosity touched everyone who knew her. Her steadfast Catholic faith informed her daily life and her strong values. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed all sports at all levels with ultimate love for Notre Dame football and Michigan’s pro sports teams!

She was a genealogy enthusiast and very proud of her French Canadian, Irish, and Ojibwe Chippewa heritage. She loved trips to the casino and enjoyed cruising with family to Alaska, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and all over the Caribbean. She took pride in her elegant handwriting and her uncanny ability to do accounting figures in her head. She enjoyed her margaritas or a glass of good wine with charcuterie. She loved playing any type of games- board games, card games, or computer games to keep her mind active and engaged.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Colonel Gene G. Jordan; her children Teresa, Chester Jr., Shawn (Hope), Kathleen (Michael), and Sharon; her grandchildren Shawn, Charles (Hannah), R.D. (Jasmine), Beth (John), Chris (Kristan), Angela, Candice (John), Anthony (Van), Sarah, Kenny (Brent), Alex (Dagny), Jesse (Sarah), Jonathan (Robbie), and Amber (Brandon); and her 35 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Ronald, Betty, Donald Jr., Jimmy, Dolly, and David, bonus sister Betty, sons-in-law Patrick and Jesse, and her daughter Karen.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in the legacy of love, faith and kindness she leaves behind. Her life reminds us that the greatest measure of a person is not in what they possess but in the love they share and the lives they touch. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Visitation following until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth, TX. 

Mass of Christian Burial:  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Chuch, 1201 S. Cherry Lane, White Settlement, TX. 

Interment: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
