Robert G. Lewis

November 30, 1935 — January 25, 2025

Robert Gail Lewis, 88, passed away January 25, 2025.

Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.  Entombment in teh mausoleum at Azleland Cemetery.

Robert Gail Lewis "Bob" was born in Pennsylvania on August 30, 1936.  He was the twin of William Lewis, and brother to Donald Lewis.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bob served in the US Air Force for 10 years, from 1954-1964, developing skills in navigation and logistics which fit him well for his subsequent career with Montgomery Ward.  It was in the Air Force that Bob met Jerry Creamer, his partner until Jerry's death in 2021.  Bob loved helping others, going out to eat with friends and playing games with them on weekends; and he enjoyed watching baseball and football games.

Bob and Jerry attended Celebration Community Church in Fort Worth for several years, both professing their belief in Jesus.  Bob loved music, especially of the southern gospel variety.  Along with John 3:16 and its promise of salvation to all who believe, his favorite passage in scripture was Psalm 91 which closes with the promise of long life: “With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”  In the spirit of that Psalm, Bob’s friends and family commit him to the shelter of the Most High, where we pray he will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
