Rickie Rayzell Taylor was born on October 30, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Norma Dean and Raymond Taylor.
A proud high school graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School (1973), Rickie went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University. He dedicated 30 years of service to the Fort Worth Independent School District as an educator. Away from his professional life, Rickie found great enjoyment in his passions: listening to music, playing golf and pool, riding his motorcycle, and playing his guitar and saxophone.
He possessed a truly distinctive presence. Many will fondly remember the memorable moments created through his notable conversations, interesting stories, and frequent telephone calls. His signature, distinctive voice will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Rickie was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Taylor, and his father, Raymond Taylor.
He is survived by his brother, Corey Taylor; his sister, Reisha Hall (Eugene); his nieces and nephews; a host of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his long-time friend, Darlene Wyatt (Dollie).
