Richard Francis Endres

Richard “Dick” Francis Endres, 88, entered eternal rest on August 29, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Richard was born on July 8, 1938, in Brenham, Texas. He was the third of eleven children of Leonard and Mathilda (Brockman, Swirczynski) Endres. Dick was a kind and generous person. He valued education, was very prayerful, was an avid bridge player, loved the musical arts, and tracked his family’s genealogy. At Holy Family Catholic Church, he was active in Church ministries including the Eucharistic Ministry, Homebound Ministry, Stephan’s Ministry, couple’s marriage sponsor, and Knights of Columbus. He was also a past President and a past District Governor of the Serra Club – an organization to promote religious vocations. Richard was also a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem – a religious organization under the direct leadership of the Holy See at the Vatican. In his later years, he and his wife moved and became members of Saint Andrew Catholic Church.

Richard earned a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Dallas. He married the love of his life, Rosemary (Steiert) on August 26,1961, in St. Peter Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. They just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. As various jobs moved him around the country, they gave birth to seven children – Margaret “Peggy” (1963), Michael (1964), and Sharon (1965) in Van Nuys, California, while he was working for RocketDyne; Elizabeth “Lisa” (1966) in Cincinnati, Ohio, while he was working for General Electric; Steven (1968), Phillip (1970), and Jeffrey (1982) in Fort Worth, Texas, while he was working for 37 years at General Dynamics and then Lockheed Martin.

Richard is survived by his wife Rosemary; his sisters Susan Henning, and Jeanne Delano with husband Jim; his sisters-in-law Mary Margaret Endres, and Linda Endres; his children Peggy Meyer with husband Victor, Sharon Doherty, Lisa Endres, Steve Endres with wife Megan, Phillip Endres, and Jeff Endres with wife Carly; his grandchildren Kevin Spears, Valerie Hauser with husband Nicholaus, Benjamin Doherty, Hannah Doherty, Ethan Endres, Elijah Endres, William “Liam” Endres, Theodore “Theo” Endres, and Zoe Endres; his great-grandson Caius Hauser; thirteen nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his father and mother, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings Thomas Endres, Kenneth Endres, Mary and husband Gerald Hertach, Judith Endres, Sharon Endres, Nicholas Endres, Donna Endres, and Catherine Endres; his brother-in-law Dale Henning; and his son Br. Michael Endres, O.S.B., in 2020.

The family is grateful to Peggy and Victor Meyer for the loving care of Dick in their home for the last several years, and to the devoted caregivers at Sunshine Senior Living in Fort Worth who brought comfort and kindness to Dick during his final months.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. and Eulogies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Spetember 14, 2026 at Thompson Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 3312 Dryden Road.  Entombment will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum, 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth.
