Phillip Glenn “Phil” Hampton, age 71, passed away on May 1, 2026. He was born on January 20, 1955, to William “Bill” Hampton and Dolores Sanderson Hampton Brucks.
Phil spent his childhood growing up in Crowley, where he attended Crowley schools from kindergarten through his graduation in 1973. He often shared stories of those early years—roaming the fields around town, going crawdad fishing, and reminiscing about the antics and adventures of his childhood and teenage years.
Phil will be remembered as a caring and loving man who found joy in helping others. He had a servant’s heart and lived out the true meaning of volunteerism. For over 25 years, he was a devoted member—and later president—of the Historic Crowley Cemetery Association, where he dedicated countless hours ensuring that families were served with dignity, compassion, and respect during some of their most difficult times.
He was a member of Fort Worth First United Methodist Church where he served on the Congregational Care Team. He enjoyed helping usher at Funerals.One of Phil’s greatest passions was photography, which began during his high school years as a photographer on the school annual staff. He spent countless hours capturing football games, sporting events, and everyday moments, and he especially loved working in the darkroom developing his photographs. Throughout his life, he found joy in helping brides create their special day, capturing beautiful wedding moments and timeless bridal portraits. He also loved photographing families, preserving meaningful memories that would last for generations.
Phil was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a firefighter, a role he carried with honor throughout his life.Above all, Phil loved his family. He was a proud father to his son, Blake, a loving father-in-law to Amy, and a cherished “Pops” to his grandson, Thomas. A proud brother to Linda, Gary & Gerald. He shared 48 interesting years of marriage with his wife, Carol. His loyalty to his family and friends was unwavering. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, kindness, and his unique sense of humor. Phil had a way of saying things that didn’t always make perfect sense, but they always brought a smile to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Hampton and Dolores Hampton Brucks; his grandparents; his older brother, Gary Hampton, and his wife, Diana. Sister-in-law Melissa Hampton; brother-in-law Douglas Pelt, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Blake and wife, Amy; his grandson, Thomas; his sister, Linda Kay Hampton; his brother, Gerald Hampton; Lionel (constant companion & protector); his sister-in-law, Sherry Pelt (Wes Partin) ; his brother-in-law, Scott Senior (Kina) his nieces and nephews, Lindsey Millican (Nathan), Drew Hampton (Grace), Amanda Johnson (Stephen), James Bryant ( Angie) Douglas Pelt Jr. (Jennifer) and Michelle Bivens (Ricky); and many cherished cousins and extended family members.
Phil’s life was marked by compassion, service, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Pathway Church, 325 NW Renfro St, Burleson, TX 76028.
Interment: Crowley Cemetery, 300 N Hampton Rd, Crowley, TX 76036.
