Mary Louise Barry, 91, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025.
Affectionately known as “The Queen” to her family and friends, Mary was born on July 2, 1934, in Fort Worth to Cottie Louise and Robert Daniel Campbell, Sr. She grew up alongside her beloved siblings—Virginia Ann, Frances Marie, and Robert Daniel “Bubba” Campbell, Jr.
Mary graduated with honors from Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in 1952, where she proudly helped write the school song and formed many cherished, lifelong friendships.
In 1955, Mary married the love of her life, Gerald Michael “Gerry” Barry, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. The newlyweds honeymooned in Dallas before beginning their life together in a tiny East Fort Worth home, later moving to the “Burk Road” house as their family grew. From 1964–1967, they lived in Midland, Texas, before returning to Fort Worth permanently, joyfully settling on Whitman Avenue where they raised their family and remained for the rest of their days.
Mary worked at the phone company and later at JC Penney once her children were older. In 1969, she and Gerry became charter members of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, which became a central part of their lives. Mary’s hobbies brought her great joy—sewing, gardening, reading, bird watching, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She co-founded and was a dedicated member of the Ivy League Garden Club for more than 20 years.
A devoted servant of her faith, Mary volunteered for many years in the St. Bartholomew parish office and proudly supported Gerry through four years of diaconate formation studies. She remained faithfully by his side throughout his two decades of service to the church and community.
Mary was preceded in death by Gerry, her loving husband of 53 years; her parents; sister, Virginia Ann Brock; and brother, Robert Daniel Campbell, Jr.
She is survived by her children: Virginia, Susan, Julie and her husband, Corby, and Paul and his wife, Sue; her sister, Frances Marie Olmos; grandchildren, Kris, Laura, Samantha, Andrew and his wife, Angee, and Marcus; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and her husband, Jason, Brice and his wife, Kayla, Katherine, and Keira; and great-great-grandchildren, Journie, Karter, D.J., and baby Hannah, arriving soon. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews; her dearest friends, Shirley Faubion, Liz Bass, and Barbara Kemper; and her cherished exchange student, Bart Doucet.
Pallbearers will be Kris Kirkland, Brice Kirkland, Mike Ashton, Robert Olmos, David Kutzler, and Chris Booth. Honorary pallbearers are Corby Calvert and Andy Olmos.
