Marianne Reiter

Marianne Reiter, age 81, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026 in her home in Hurst, Texas surrounded by her family.

Marianne was born October 15, 1945 to Opal and Roy Riffe, in Fort Worth Texas. She attended the Old Bedford School and Texas Women’s University. She was a gifted artist and had a talent for photography, restoring photos and writing her family genealogy.

Marianne met her husband Michael while they were both volunteering for Vista in Buffalo NY. They were married in 1971 and moved to Fort Worth before moving to Mesquite Texas to raise their two boys. Marianne and Michael returned to Hurst for their retirement years. Marianne was a loving wife and mother, a doting grandmother and was loved dearly by her family.

Marianne was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Reiter, her father, Roy Riffe, and her mother, Opal Coffman.

She is survived by her loving family: brother, Chester; niece, Wendy; sons, Josh Reiter, and Oliver Reiter and his wife, Nancy; grandchildren; Madeline and Peter Tishuk, Rebecca and Paul Zganiacz, Katherine and Jimmy Martinez, Emily, Therese, Jack, Mary, James, Andrew, Nathan, Meghan, and Genevieve; and great grandchildren, Nolan, Sophia, Danielle, Juliet, Lucy, Dorothy, Walter, Caleb, Melanie, Thomas, Maria, and Winston.

Marianne was baptized into the Catholic Church on June 2, 2023. 

Mass of Christian Burial:  2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at St. Mary the Virgin Catholic Church, 1408 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. 

Entombment will follow in the Columbarium at St. Mary the Virgin Catholic Church.
