It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Vila Urquidi-Campagna, who passed away on February 11th, 2026, at her cherished home in North Richland Hills, Texas, after a valiant two-year battle with aggressive cancer. Born on November 27th, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, Vila was a remarkable individual whose life was defined by compassion, service, and deep familial love.

Vila's early education at All Saints Catholic School laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to learning and community service. A proud alumnus of Nolan Catholic High School, she continued her education in college before embracing the joys and challenges of family life.

Her professional journey was defined by her dedication to helping others, including roles as a social worker, paralegal, and translator. In these roles, Vila championed the rights of those who were unrepresented and unheard, ensuring they received the legal help and advocacy they so desperately needed.

Vila also devoted significant time to volunteering with the United Service Organizations (USO), offering unwavering support to returning soldiers. By assisting service members during their leaves and after their tours of duty, she created a welcoming space of kindness and understanding at a time when they needed it most.

Family was the cornerstone of Vila's life. Vila was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Esperanza "Hope" Urquidi, who instilled in Vila the values of compassion and resilience that defined her life. She is survived by her loving son, Dante Campagna; her devoted son, Antony; his wife, Amy; and her cherished grandchildren, Michael-Joseph and Giovanni Campagna. Each family gathering reflected her warm spirit and commitment to nurturing connections, whether through laughter, storytelling, or moments of shared grace.

A Memorial Mass to honor Vila's extraordinary life will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Northside Fort Worth at 11 am on Thursday, February 26th, 2026.  Following the service, a luncheon will give friends and family a chance to gather, celebrate her life, and share cherished memories.

As we reflect on the life of Maria Vila Urquidi-Campagna, we celebrate a woman whose influence will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Her dedication to service, unwavering love, and kindness will be remembered and cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to help offset significant medical expenses incurred during her illness. In a gesture that would honor her legacy of compassion and support for those in need, donations can be made by scanning the QR code.
