Listen to Obituary

Malachi Calvon Hansard, affectionately known as Mali, 21, of Fort Worth, Texas, departed from this life on October 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and boundless love that touched the lives of many. Although God called him home at a young age, Malachi’s impact will last a lifetime.

Malachi was a blessing from God to Precious Hill and Todd Hansard on January 29, 2004, in Topeka, Kansas. He has always been an exceptional son. From the moment Malachi came into this world, he was a shining light to all those who knew him.

He was a vibrant and caring person who had a natural gift for connecting with and helping others. He would walk into a room and light it up with his smile. His energy was loved by all he was in contact with.

He was a beloved brother, a constant source of support, security, and trust for his siblings. Malachi and his sisters, Takiah and Shayriah, were fortunate to live in and explore different states throughout his life.

Malachi spent his early childhood in Topeka, Kansas, where he attended Scott Elementary School. He spent his middle childhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended KIPP Preparatory School and played on the basketball team. He spent his adolescence and early adulthood in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was a 2022 graduate of Southwest High School.

Time with his family brought Mali the most joy. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and loved his dog, Draco, whom he took great care of. Malachi liked fishing, bowling, rapping with his sisters, and playing online games with his family and friends. He loved spending quality time with his mom having game nights.

Malachi enjoyed manual labor and was employed with Amazon. He also loved spending time in Colorado with his Aunt Sheena and Uncle Mike during the summers. There, he gained employment with FedEx, where he was a hard worker who proved his dedication and desire for growth and discipline.

Malachi was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Lula Kelley; grandfather, Calvin Hill; and step-grandfather, James Wright.

He is survived by his mother, Precious Hill (Pierre Johnson); father, Todd Hansard (Petrice); sisters, Takiah Shahid, Shayriah Bowens, and Zaya Hansard; brothers, Jaylen and Jeremiah Hansard; great-grandmother, Bobbie Jean Boykins; great-grandfather, William Kelley; maternal grandmother, Sharon Wright (Kenneth Lately); paternal grandparents, Sherman and Jaine Hansard; step-grandmother, Carolyn Hill; aunts, ChrisSheena Jackson (Mike), Jamie Wright, Tasha Hansard, and Amy Freeman (Howard); and uncle, Shone Hansard (Jeanie).

He is also survived by Timothy Shahid, who loved and helped raise Malachi during his early childhood.

Malachi leaves to cherish his memory a host of cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles, and countless friends.

May Malachi’s memory be a blessing, and may we honor him through a life of intent, compassion, and love — as he did.
