Linda Sue (Killough) Jones passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 6, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on October 20, 1947, in Brownwood, Texas, to Floyd and Ola Killough. Shortly thereafter, her family moved to Fort Worth, where she lived until 2024.
Sue graduated from R. L. Paschal High School in 1966 and went on to attend Texas Wesleyan College, earning a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. She briefly taught at The Masonic Home and School of Texas before devoting most of her life to her family as a homemaker and serving as a pianist at Southwayside Baptist Church.
Sue began attending Southwayside Baptist Church in her childhood. It was there that she met her husband, Bill Jones, and they were married on April 4, 1969. She served faithfully at Southwayside in many capacities until the mid-2000s.
Sue was a creative and devoted mother who expressed her love through the things she made and cared for. Her children fondly remember her staying up late many nights to finish their Easter dresses each year so they would be ready for Sunday morning. She enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, and creating beautiful cakes for family celebrations. Sue also loved working in her flowerbeds—tending her roses and planting tulips were among the simple joys that brought her great happiness. She took special delight in decorating her home for every season, filling it with warmth and beauty for her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, and her mother and father, Floyd and Ola Killough. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Judy Killough; her children, William Jared and Kara Jones, Krista Leigh Roberts, and Elise Noel Gonzales; five grandchildren, William Clark Jones, Wesley Blake Jones, Yujung Lily Jones, Raeleigh Grace Roberts, and Penelope Gwen Gonzales; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
