Laura Kelly Faherty passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at a local care facility. Laura was born on December 28, 1928, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the only child of John Moore Kelly, an attorney, and Jessie Lewis Kelly, a high school literature teacher. She graduated from Knoxville Catholic High School and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in education in 1950, a campus beauty and proud lifelong member of Chi Omega sorority.
She married Frank P. Faherty Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee, in 1950, whereupon they resided in St. Joseph, Missouri, San Benito, Texas, and Fort Worth, Texas. Laura was an accomplished real estate broker and administrator who worked at several realty agencies in the Fort Worth area. She was a dedicated and devout member of St. Andrew Catholic Church since 1955. A longtime officer and leader of the Woman's Club of Fort Worth, she enjoyed club activities with her fellow members. Laura was a kind and generous "Southern Belle" who will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
Survivors: Sons, Frank P. Faherty III and wife Carla, John Kevin Faherty and wife Marion, David Miles Faherty, and Brian Kelly Faherty, all of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Sean Kevin Faherty of Fort Worth, Colin Matthew Faherty and wife Monica of Fort Collins, Colorado, Allison Aileen Chown and husband Kyle of Portland, Oregon, Colleen Kelli Polley and husband Nolan of Johnstown, Colorado; and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service: 1:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Greenwood Memorial Park, 3400 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Enter the grounds where you see the Four Horses turning off White Settlement. Directly ahead will be signs that will lead to the Faherty Burial.
