Kimberly Margowski, 65, passed away November 11, 2025.

Kimberly Ann “Kim” Wood was born on May 21, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Avis Kitchens and Gerald Wood. Raised in White Settlement by her grandparents, Minnie and Clessie Wood, Kim grew up with a strong spirit, a competitive heart, and a deep capacity for love. She played basketball at Brewer High School, where her determination and drive first began to shine.

At 19, Kim married Roy Bickel, and together they welcomed their daughter, Brandi. She later married Robert Jackson, with whom she had her daughter, Maegen. Her final marriage was to Bill Margowski, whom she met during her journey of recovery; a chapter that reflected her courage, resilience, and commitment to rebuilding her life with purpose and strength. They later separated but remained close friends.

Kim’s young adulthood was marked by challenges, but she refused to be defined by them. Through NA and AA, she found healing, community, and love for life. She built a career she was immensely proud of, rising quickly in the apartment industry from leasing agent to manager, supervisor, and ultimately regional supervisor for a major out‑of‑state property company. Along the way, she earned her real estate license and proved, time and again, that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to.

Kim’s greatest devotion was to her daughters. She supported them tirelessly, from rodeos and weekly youth meetings at her home, to driving across Texas in ice for barrel racing clinics, to spending countless weekends at ballparks. She was the team mom, the carpool driver, the cheerleader, and the steady presence who made sure every child felt included. The Margowski home was known as a safe, welcoming place with a revolving door of teens who knew they could always find comfort, laughter, and Kim’s famous meatloaf. Many of Brandi and Maegen’s friends came to see her as a second mom.

The highlight of Kim’s life came at 44 years young, when she proudly embraced the role of “Nawnie.” Holding her first grandchild that February morning filled her with a renewed sense of purpose and joy. She cherished her grandchildren deeply and was the proud Nawnie to Natalie, Nolan (her only grandson), Noella, Kyleigh, and Bryleigh. Being their Nawnie brought out her softest smiles, her biggest pride, and her most tender love.

Kim had a gift for giving. She opened her home to anyone who needed help; offering food, clothes, a place to stay, or simply a listening ear. She watched friends’ children so they could get back on their feet. She cared for abandoned animals with the same tenderness she showed people. Her generosity was instinctive, constant, and without conditions.

She loved to travel, especially to Mexico and Cozumel, where she, Bill, and the girls spent many Thanksgivings with Bill’s family. She cherished trips to Las Vegas during the National Finals Rodeo, and she loved spending time with friends. Introduced to darts by her English friends, she became exceptionally skilled, competing in tournaments, joining a dart league, and hosting lively dart parties at her home.

Kim’s life was defined by resilience, loyalty, and an unwavering love for her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and the countless lives she touched simply by opening her heart and her home.

She is survived by her daughters, Brandi Bickel of Fort Worth and Maegen and husband Kyle Jones of Aledo; her beloved grandchildren, Natalie Bickel, Nolan and Noella of Fort Worth, Kyleigh Pawlak and Bryleigh Jones of Aledo; her brother Mark Wood and nieces Alexis and Emily, and numerous family and friends and all those who were shaped by her kindness, humor, and fierce devotion.
