John Francis Goheen

John Francis Goheen, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 22, 2026. He is now reunited with his late wife, Nona, who passed in 1979 and whose memory remained a guiding presence throughout his life. For the past 40 years, he also shared his days with Jo Van Meter, a loving companion who brought him comfort, joy, and unwavering support.

Raised in a big and lively household, he grew up with the values of faith, hard work, and togetherness. Those early years shaped the man he became — steady, generous, and happiest when surrounded by family. After graduating high school, he attended St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where he proudly played baseball.

He went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Army, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and humility. His work ethic followed him into civilian life, where he built a long career in sales. He was known for his humor and his ability to talk to anyone.

Above all else, he was a family man. The father of ten children, he devoted himself to their lives and accomplishments - always ready with a smile and a story. He cherished his siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family, embracing every opportunity to stay connected.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents and several siblings who went before him. He is survived by his ten children, 30 grandchildren, 41 great‑grandchildren, devoted companion of 40 years, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.

His life was defined by his boisterous spirit, his kindness, and his willingness to offer support in any way he could. His family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with those he loved.
