Janice Louise Barnard Morgan

Janice Louise Morgan went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026. 

A kind and gentle soul, Jan’s life was devoted to caring for her family. She was born in Fort Worth on December 20, 1938 to Louise and Marill Barnard. Due to a prolonged illness by her mother, she lived with her grandmother, Sallie Magee, in Lubbock during her early childhood years. As a teenager, she moved back to Fort Worth to live with her parents. She graduated from Paschal High School and attended TCU.

Jan married Stephen Howard Morgan in 1959. The Morgans moved with their two young children to Abilene, where they spent the next 30 years before returning to Fort Worth. Jan spent her last five years in Dallas near her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband and their son, Stephen Kirk Morgan. She is survived by daughter, Beverly Smirnis, son-in-law Steve Smirnis, three grandsons, Austin Morgan, William Smirnis and Nicholas Smirnis, and one great-grandson, Peter Smirnis.

Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth, Texas 76114.  Interment will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park.
