Dolores Rita Siegert was born on January 29, 1933, to Anna and Stephen Siegert in Chicago, Illinois. As a young girl she enjoyed sports, acting, and music.

It was in Chicago, Illinois that she met the man she would marry, Robert Klawiter. Their romance deepened through letters they exchanged nearly every day. Bob and Dee wed in 1954 and began building their family together. They raised six children Greg, Kim, Debbie, Jeff, Russell and Chris.

Dee and Bob enjoyed volunteering together in community organizations including The Fort Worth Symphony, Ballet, and Opera. In honor of their dear friend Mary Lou, Dee and her lifelong friend group participated in “The Race for a Cure” annually.

Dee was an active parishioner at St. Andrew Catholic Church. For many years she enjoyed preparing meals for weekend parish retreats, helping with the children choir, and decorating the church for special holidays. She was also a dedicated money counter every Monday morning always arriving with a smile and often a homemade treat.

Holidays and birthdays held a special place in Dee’s heart, where she created memorable events that made everyone feel welcomed. She was the orchestrator of festivities for family celebrations, from fully decorating her home and dining table to preparing beautiful meals that brought family and friends together.

Let us celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, a loving mother, and a cherished friend. Her impact on our lives can never be measured in words. Her love was endless, and her compassion touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy is not just in the family she built, but in the kindness she extended to all who crossed her path.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Stephen Siegert; her loving husband of 63 years Robert “Bob” Klawiter; her son Christopher; brothers, Joseph Siegert (Violet), William Siegert (Stephanie), Stephen Siegert (Gloria); her sisters Mary Millard (Edward), Anna Tempel (Carl) and brother-in-law Joseph Lindl.

Dee is survived by her younger sister Rosemarie Lindl: her 5 children, Gregory Klawiter (Barbara), Kimberly Morrow, Debra Miller, Jeffrey Klawiter (Cathy) and Russell Klawiter (Linda).  Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Derek Klawiter (Paula), Randi Sloan (Jim), Amanda Hurtik (Blake), Jenna Doutlick (Derek), Meagan Miller (Cody), Angelica Klawiter, Victoria Klawiter, Kyle Klawiter, Tyler Klawiter, Riley Klawiter; and great grand-children, Charles Sloan, Isabel Sloan, Sagan Doutlick, Owen Doutlick, and Leo Hurtik; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

The Klawiter Family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and CNAs at The Stayton on Museum Way and Community Healthcare of Texas Hospice for the love, care, and compassion they showed our mother. We would also like to thank the residents at the Stayton on Museum Way who welcomed Dee with loving arms and quickly became special companions.
