David Anzaldua

David Anzaldua, 70, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

David was born in Sweetwater, TX, to Amado and Petra Anzaldua and was raised in and around Roscoe, TX. Growing up, he worked on a pig farm and in the cotton fields and cotton gins. In school, David was an accomplished athlete, running on a record-breaking 400-meter relay team. He also played quarterback, running back, and tight end for the 6-man football team. During one basketball game, David suffered a serious injury when he bit off his tongue, which was successfully reattached.

David joined the United States Army on July 17, 1974, without his father knowing. His first duty station was in Hawaii, and his final two duty stations were in Iraq. After a long military career, David retired in 2010. He then worked for Lowe’s for six years before settling into what may have been his favorite job of all—enjoying his yard and spending time with his family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his father and mother, Amado & Petra Anzaldua; brothers, Luis, Daniel, and Adam Anzaldua; sister, Maria Hernandez; niece, Barbara De Los Reyes; and his grandson, Christopher Paul Vasquez.

David is survived by his wife, Victoria Anzaldua of Crowley, TX; daughter, Patricia Trevino & Bernardo of Ft. Worth, TX; sons, David Anzaldua Jr. of Ft. Worth, TX, and Bobbie James Baker of Alvarado, TX; grandchildren, Joe David, AJ & Katelyn, Anissa, Venessa & JT, Amy & Osvaldo, and Andrew & Ashly; great-grandchildren, Eliana, Lyliah, Elias, and Luca; brothers, Joel Anzaldua & Gloria of Ft. Worth, TX, and Gilbert Anzaldua & Veronica of Geronimo, OK; and sisters, Linda Constantino & Pablo of Ft. Worth, TX, and Gloria Anzaldua of Fort Worth, TX.

Services: A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Chapel, 4350 River Oaks Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76114. A reception will immediately follow in the Drawing Room of the funeral home.

Interment: 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211.
