Charles Patrick "Pat" Fisher

Charles Patrick “Pat” Fisher, 92, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026. Born on May 18, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Max Charles Fisher and Mary Grace Fisher, Pat lived his entire life in Fort Worth, the city he loved and proudly called home.

Pat lived a life defined by quiet strength, steadfast devotion, and unwavering love for his family. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a major in math and minor in physics, where he also met the love of his life, Sylvia Anne Cowdin. Their courtship blossomed into a marriage that spanned 67 years, a remarkable partnership built on love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. Throughout their marriage, Pat demonstrated his love not through grand gestures, but through everyday acts of kindness, faithfulness, and service that reflected the depth of his devotion.

The day after his college graduation, Pat began his career with Convair, remaining with the company as it evolved into General Dynamics and later Lockheed Martin. Over the course of his career, he served as Senior Specialist in Acoustics and Vibration on the F-16 program, work that reflected his intelligence, precision, and commitment to excellence. Sometimes before heading to his full-time job each morning, Pat drove a school bus to Nolan High School, and also refereed soccer games. These additional jobs were never about staying busy – they were simply another way he could provide for and take care of his family, a responsibility he embraced with pride.

Pat’s faith was an enduring source of strength in his life. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church, where he gave of his time for many years. He faithfully volunteered for many years counting the weekly collection and working in the parish food pantry, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. His acts of service reflected the humility, generosity, and unwavering faith that defined the way he lived.

Pat was the kind of man who simply showed up – day after day, year after year. He believed in hard work, perseverance, and taking care of the people he loved. Together, Pat and Sylvia raised four children, and family was always at the center of his life. He found the greatest joy in being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Known lovingly as “Pappy” to his beloved grandchildren, Zora, Haze, and Enzo, he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. The example he set through his love, generosity, and often with few words will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Sylvia Cowdin Fisher; his brother Max (Carene) Fisher, his sister, Mary (David) Dixon; his four children, Laura Emily Fisher, Elisa Lynn Fisher, Andrew Patrick Fisher, and Melanie Anne Fisher; and his cherished grandchildren, Zora Annabelle Holcomb, Haze Ericson Holcomb, and Enzo Hugh Holcomb. He was preceded in death by his parents Max Charles Fisher and Mary Grace Fisher.

Though unassuming, Pat’s legacy is one of faithfulness, humility, kindness, and unconditional love. He leaves behind not only cherished memories, but an enduring example of what it means to love well, work hard, and place family above all else. His family will miss him deeply but are profoundly grateful for the many years they shared with him.

His was a life that never sought recognition, only the satisfaction of a job well done and a family well loved.

It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child. Our family discovered that it also takes a village to walk alongside those we love through the later seasons of life.

We have been blessed by the kindness, compassion, and generosity of so many people who walked beside our family during this chapter. We extend heartfelt gratitude to Theresa Frederick, Mary Helen Franco, John Howington, and the extraordinary teams at Discovery Village Alliance Town Center and Custom Care Hospice, especially Mallory and Rosa, for the love, friendship, support, and exceptional care they provided Pat.

Your compassion lightened our burdens, your kindness brought comfort, and your care meant more to our family than words can express. We will always be grateful for the dignity, respect, and love you showed Pat and our family.

Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at St. Andrew Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Catholic Charities, Camp Fire First Texas Camp El Tesoro, or the American Cancer Society in Pat’s memory.
